Here is the mess they left me with. You can kind of make out where the stitches are not doing there job and the skin is pulling up and apart... frickin' fabulous
So here is today - Day 3 - now you can really see the mark that will be a life long scar for me... I will cry like George about not being able to be a hand model later ;) I, of course, called the surgeon and was told he would get back to me - I called today and his (of course) office is closed until Monday... so hooray for me... I am not feeling too bad today, however I'm still unable to do most things....
If the photos are too much I won't post them... I just thought I would share.
The black marks are suture knots and the faint line inbetween is the incision. The incision is a high point in my hand, a bump. As far as my finger goes I can't straighten it. It looks like I want to grab a hamburger - that kind of grip - maybe a little bit wider.
So boo and hooray for the wonders of science. I just hope that I don't have to go back again for another crack at it.
It is a good thing I watch Trauma: Life in the ER - this doesn't faze me at all! Why did you need surgery - did I miss something major... well, I hope that you and the kiddies are doing great... just watched ER - now I am off to bed - 'cause tomorrow is FRIDAY! YEAH!!
hey carmen - the post before explains most of it - I had (have) trigger finger - it turned my middle finger into a claw for nearly three months - I just woke up one morning and couldn't open my finger - it was very terrible - the cure was this surgery
