one more thing

And this morning I was walking with a newspaper and didn't really look at it and then all of the sudden it the title hit me...
"A new chapter without Page, Barenaked Ladies Ed Robertson says singer's split was 'amicable'."

WHAT!

I mean I guess if that is what needed to be done - then that's what needed to be done.. but it just makes me want to cry... in fact I nearly did cry when I read it.

When I was born, they looked me at and said,
What a good boy, what smart boy, what a strong boy
And when you were born, they looked at you and said,
What a good girl, what smart girl, what a pretty girl

We've got these chains that hang around our necks
People want to strangle us with them before we take our first breath
Afraid of change, afraid of staying the same,
when temptation calls, we just look away.

I love you Steven Page! The naked ladies won't be the same without you.

If you caught Ed Robertson's CBC radio interview last night (As It Happens) then it sounds like there was some serious tension building up ever since the Syracuse incident. They had a 20 year plus friendship based on doing what they love - hope they can patch it up.

You were the first person to cross my mind as soon as I heard the news. I was wondering how you were going to take it. Myself, I'm not really sure how well one would do without the other...

Thanks for the heads up on the CBC interview... I might actually see if I can find some late news on that has it - I haven't watched any news in two days - only the newspaper... and the newspaper was pretty vague once I actually read the story.

Jen - you made me laugh that you thought of me :)
Thanks :) I really love BNL's other band members and they do all sing, but I'm definitely left wondering how do you fill Steven's spot... they noted in the article that that was the plan and I was surprised by that - I didn't think they'd replace him... well I didn't know what they'd be doing - they are going to be working on a new record - so I guess we'll see what happens.

Yeah... I am not quite sure BNL can pull it off without Steven Page...

I mean - him and Ed's banter during songs? Ed can't just talk on his own about Kraft dinner - it wouldn't be right!
